Come and discover the Battle of the Marne Memorial of 1914-1918, one of the four national monuments of the Great War.

The guided tour organized by the association «Memorial of Dormans 1914-1918» with the participation of the municipality of Dormans will allow to (re)discover the history and the symbolism of this Historical Monument.
Learn more about the year 1922 with the visit of Marshal Foch.
A visit booklet is distributed for younger children.
It will be possible to join the tour in progress.
Free tours will be possible at the opening hours (14h-18h), the guided tours take place at 17h on Saturday and Sunday.

The memorial of Dormans dominates the valley of the Marne. He(It) calls back(reminds) both victories of September, 1914 and of the summer, 1918\. It is a private creation wanted by the marshal Foch who chooses the site in 1919\. Works began in 1921 and ended ten years later. The memorial is compound(made up) of five parts(parties) with an access to the ossuary where are kept(preserved) the remains of 1 500 combatants. Outside, the lantern of the deaths calls back(reminds) the memory(souvenir) of the combatants.
