Château de Guirbaden
67190 Mollkirch
The castle of Guirbaden, considered as the largest castle of Alsace with its 260 m of length, was certainly built around the XIth century by Hugues III of Eguisheim, in order to protect the property of the abbey of Altorf. Destroyed in 1633 at the time of the Swedish invasions, it was definitively destroyed by the French soldiers in 1657\. It is accessible from Mollkirch and Grendelbruch by hiking trails. The ruins were classified as historical monuments in 1898.
