The church was built in stages. From the twelfth century, the nave is elevated, then the choir and the north arm of the transept are built in the thirteenth century, the south arm of the transept as well as the collateral added in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, finally the building is completed by a sacristy and the bays are open in the eighteenth century. It was in 1669 that the church was erected as a parish, under the name Saint Crespin and Saint Crespinian. The church is located on the slopes of the Montagne de Reims in the middle of the vineyards.
