About the location

Palais du Gouverneur militaire - Hôtel Gayot de Deux-Ponts

The building, of the XVIIIth century, draws inspiration from private residences of the marsh in Paris and especially from the Palace Rohan in Strasbourg. While the building(ship) threatened ruins, the hotel is acquired and restored(bought back and restored) by the Ministry of War to become in 1804 the residence of the military Governor of Strasbourg. Facades, the atrium and the garden of the hotel of the military governor were listed(classified) in conformance with(for) historic monuments the April 1st(April Fools's Day) 1921\. In collaboration with DRAC and the heritage foundation, the pond was restored in 2015-2016\. A reflexion is currently committed(hired) with the Service(Department) of infrastructure of the Defense and the French National Architect regarding roofing.
