Stroll through the streets and discover the native houses of the Guebwillerois authors.

Guebwiller saw the birth of many literary authors in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The walk will take us through the streets and native houses of the authors to the Neuenburg where Jean-Paul Sorg, philosopher, will give a lecture around 17:00 on the literary work of Emile Storck, dialectal author and former German teacher at the IUFM.
This walk of 1400 m is proposed by the association Cercle E. Storck Kreis.

Rue de l'abbé Braun, 68500 Guebwiller

The town of Guebwiller is located on the Alsace wine route at an altitude of 300 meters, at the foot of the Grand Ballon formerly called «Ballon de Guebwiller», the highest peak of the Vosges massif (1424m).
Labeled «Country of Art and History» and classified Tourist Commune, the city of Guebwiller (Gawiller in Alsace) is animated by a dynamic of valorization of architecture and heritage.
This former capital of the Murbach Abbey’s possessions was established in the heart of the Florival Valley (Latin Florigeravallis: literally valley of flowers).
Nicknamed «the city of three churches», Guebwiller is home to monuments displaying a variety of architectural styles: the Romanesque church of Saint-Léger, the former Dominican Convent (Gothic, currently cultural meeting center). Among the personalities who have marked the history of the city, Theodore Deck, master of ceramic art in the 19th century gave his name to the museum of art and local history: the Theodore Deck Museum and the Florival
