Dive into the heart of the Middle Ages and discover the construction stages of this impregnable fortress.

Fifteen scenographic rooms are set up there. You will discover the history of the Principality of Sedan, the daily life of the Princes, the symbols of their power as their currency or this fabulous collection of armor taken to Paris by Napoleon.
The course is also designed for children! Guided by Raymond le Marmiton, they will discover his story in a fun and pictorial way.

  • The camp of the Lord
    Enter a real medieval camp and accompany the Lord of the Marck in one of his military campaigns. An armorer shop presents the weapons and armor of the Middle Ages. Enter into the intimacy of the lord by visiting his tent, furnished with taste and pomp.

  • The Apprentice Gunner
    Try medieval artillery with our costumed animator and trip a target castle.

Based(Established) in 1424 by Evrard de La Marck, Germanic Lord, the fortified castle of Sedan did not cease expanding and evolving to fit to progress of the artillery, however, it does not mean that the previous(former) devices(plans) are destroyed, what makes a real catalogue of military architecture today the XVth and XIXth century s enters. With his(her,its) 35 000 m ², it is also considered as one of the largest fortresses of medieval origin of Europe.
