A landmark of the Renaissance and Classicism, the historic site of Cons-la-Grandville is a treasure trove of Lorraine’s architectural heritage. Castle, priory complex, blast furnace, park and old gardens form a major monumental and vegetal ensemble in the heart of the Greater Region, witness to a family continuity of more than nine centuries.

The castle of Cons-la-Grandville is one of centres of Renaissance and of sculpture of this time(period) in Lorraine. Built on a rocky headland at the heart of the village of Cons-la-Grandville, on river banks Chiers, the current castle rests(bases) on the foundations of a first fortified castle established by Dudon de Cons, fellow traveller of Godefroy of Broth during the first crusade (1096). Since this time(period) and untill today, this monument did not cease being transformed, prettified, restored.
