Discovery of a hydraulic mill of the end of the eighteenth century, very well restored. Guided tours, animations and various demonstrations.

Guided tours of the mill: at 2.30pm and 3.30pm Demonstration of old-fashioned wheat threshing at 3pm and wheat milling at 4.30pm Exhibition of nature and heritage photographs of Alsace: David Heitzmann Musical animations surprises in the aftermathmidi Family walk around the mill, the river and the chapel of Sainte-Odile (on the theme of mills and the river) animated by the Storytellers of Mulhouse.

If its existence is attested since 1394, the current mill dates from 1798\. Used for centuries, it is no longer exploited. Outside, the water supply line and bucket wheels disappeared, but inside, all the machinery (three pairs of wheels), as well as the worker’s room upstairs, remained in place. An association was created in 2003 to safeguard and enhance this remarkable site of the Thalbach valley. Since the creation of the association, members have volunteered more than 4,000 hours.
The restoration work first reconstructed a reservoir of the motor waters, a water supply channel, the end-of-run hutch, the 5-metre-diameter wheel, the runner and the drain pipe. Then the second phase continued inside the mill with the refurbishment of the old natural stone floor, the foundations of the belfry, the machining of 300 alluchons, the frame of the belfry, the grinding of the gear axes, the dressing of the wheels, the restoration of the bluterie...
