Come and discover 9 women who have invested themselves in the Vallage, through portraits in words and images by the Joinvillois artist Yann Denes. This evolutionary exhibition is now complete!

This exhibition presents nine women who have lived in the territory. In order to get to know them, their portrait is presented in pictures and words.
Through his look and style, the artist has interpreted portraits painted between the 16th and 18th centuries and photographs taken from 1914 to the present day.
The biographical notes of the 9 women were written based on a literature search and information provided by the families and relatives of women of the 20th century. Made over the weeks, these portraits were hung gradually in the hall of honour of the castle of the Grand Jardin, between June 28 and September 16.
The visitor will be able to discover the heritage of these women, the traces they left us by their actions and their commitment, the places where they lived and built.
Perhaps these nine female figures will encourage the women and men of today and tomorrow to find inspiration and to use their talents in our territory.

For centuries, women have invested in the Vallage.
Long overshadowed by famous men (Denis Diderot, Charles de Gaulle), personalities such as Antoinette de Bourbon, first duchess of Guise, or Emilie Le Tonnelier de Breteuil, marquise du Châtelet, In recent years, they have regained their rightful place in the history of our department. The political actions of one, the intellectual and scientific skills of the other are now (somewhat) better known to the general public. In the wake of these historical figures, others have subsequently invested themselves in the territory, living here by choice, by passion, by inheritance, by meetings or even by chance. ___
This scalable exhibition was designed by the Office de Tourisme du Bassin de Joinville en Champagne as part of its annual theme around the women of the Vallage.
