Let yourself be guided to discover the exhibition presented by the Conservatoire du patrimoine religieux en Alsace, with the support of the City of Rouffach.

Time is an essential factor in the life of religions.
In addition to the conception of time itself, which is oriented towards a final end (the Last Judgment in the cults present in Alsace), calendars condition the cult throughout the year. The Western civil calendar is an offshoot of this. The annual cycle specific to each religion will be evoked through objects and illustrations that bear witness to these visions of time: Guta-Sintram codex from Marbach Abbey, Old Thann calendar, Rouffach jacquemarts, ornaments, Seder plate, Hanukkah lamp…

One of the very rare churches of order begging in Alsace to have been kept(preserved), with its external pulpit and a cloister of the XVth century. In 1435, the community adopted(accepted) the rule(ruler) of Récollets. The construction joined with the chorus(choir) of the church is the sepulchral chapel with vault and funerary monument built in 1606 by the count Manderscheid-Blankenheim, the big(great) bailiff of Mundat and brother of the bishop of Strasbourg. She keeps(preserves) a high altar of the XVIIIth century, a collection of funeral paving stones of XIIITH - XVIIITH centuries, as well as of copies emblazoned by the commanders of Teutonic Order, order having obtained the use(custom) from the back span of the church as particular(special) chapel. After the abolition(deletion) of the community, in 1792, buildings(ships) had diverse allocations(appointments), which pulled(entailed) successive reorganisations. The conventual buildings(ships) which shelter the Archives of the City and the Academy of religious heritage in Alsace were recently renovated.
