The cultivation of vines in the Florival was favoured by the Murbach Abbey. The monk Fruilandus, in his memoirs, described the Florival as «a paradise in which the blood of the vine flows in abundance».
Buhl honoured this wine-growing tradition. Writings attest to the presence of vineyard feet even on the slopes of the church. And in 1728 the slopes of the Kantelacker, along the Weihermatten, were planted with vines.
The area of the vineyard fluctuated over time. Walls located very high on the slopes of the Schimberg testify to the extent of this culture in the past. At the beginning of the seventeenth century, the Buhlois vineyard was exploited on 42.50 ha., before the Neuberg plantation (1750-1753), to expand in 1760 to a total area of 60 ha.
In 1885, phylloxera ravaged the vineyard. Nevertheless, in 1900, the vineyard was again 63 ha.
In 1941, the 191 owners spread over 47 ha. produced 1,400 hectolitres of wine. It should be noted that at each harvest period, the municipality hired
