Come and discover the Saint-Pierre de Dompierre-aux-Bois church, rebuilt after the First World War.

On September 22, 1914, this church is the scene of a tragic event: the bombing of the French artillery, in its attempt to dislodge the Germans installed in the village, make 24 civilian victims and 17 wounded among the inhabitants locked in the church.
A stained glass window recalls this episode: the crucified Christ, with his crown of thorns, the side and hands pierced; the cup and the host, symbol of the body delivered and the blood shed.

The church Saint Peter is a neo-Romanic building rebuilt in 1932 following damages undergone during the World War I. It contains a single nave separated from the apse in collar(pass) of oven by a transept in bow(arc) in round arch. The wooden skeleton takes support on stony "ravens « and supports the vault of the panelled ceiling. The chorus(choir) shelters the old(former) high altar and two small lateral altars devoted to the Virgin Mary and to saint Joseph. The church Saint-Peter keeps(preserves) a memorial stained-glass window of war 1914-1918.
