About the location

Église Saint-Epvre
Rue de l'église, 88300 Barville
  • Vosges
  • Grand Est
In 1584, Barville, still far from being considered a village, gathered on its heights a chapel which was in the present cemetery as well as a cure dating from 1610, later renamed the manor of Barville. A precise chronicle that Louis XIV had stayed at the cure during his passage to join Alsace in war and would have confessed there.
The church Saint-Epvre is in the territory of Barville but also belongs to the village of Harchechamp. A church for two villages. It was built between 1837 and 1839.
In the center of the village, a calvary is on the way leading to Harchechamp by the plot, a mission cross is also visible.
