Known for its austere lifestyle in the United States, the Amish movement has its origins in Sainte-Marie-aux-Mines. This religious community was created here in 1693 by Patriarch Jacob Amann, in response to the loosening of the mores of the local Anabaptist community.
Through a richly illustrated slideshow, discover the origins and development of the Amish movement, from its origins to the present day.
Conference hosted by David Bouvier, archivist and animator of the Val d'Argent heritage.
