Come and attend a conference on the particular context in Alsace-Lorraine and Alsace-Moselle, between 1871 and 1924.
This conference will present the colonial context between 1871 and 1924, the Germans considering Alsace-Moselle as a land to colonize.
After the 1918 victory, the French instructed the colonial ministry to impose French law in Alsace-Moselle.
Robert Schumann drafted the local law still in force in Alsace-Moselle, which was transcribed in French and updated several times.
Regularly challenged, this right animates passionate discussions between adaptations and opponents, and will be discussed at this conference.
Conference presented by Emilien Rhinn, PhD in the history of law and institutions and by Jean Faivre, lecturer at the University of Haute-Alsace, former European parliamentary assistant.
