Water is omnipresent in Neufchâteau: the Meuse, the Mouzon, the Mazarine, the Watering trough, the Tanneries stream, the Moulin stream. But our basement is karst, it’s a peculiarity of our territory. The water of the Meuse is lost south of Neufchâteau in Bazoilles-sur-Meuse, (the same goes for the Mouzon in Rebeuville) to reappear in different places. These are the resurgences of the Watering Trough, the Grande Fontaine, the basin of the SNCF...
