The place(square) Saint-Peter is located in the district of High city of Bar-le-Duc, labelled «safeguarded sector» since 1975 for its urban complex Renaissance. It is dominated by the church Saint-Peter, of style Flamboyant Gothic, which receives(welcomes) two of the works of the sculptor Ligier Richier:« the Ordeal(Calvary)», representing the Christ and both scoundrels, and " the Chilling ", representing the skeleton emaciated by René de Chalon. The place(square) Saint-Peter concentrates the 5 centuries of architecture. It is lined by private residences dating Renaissance as hotel of Florainville (current Law courts), of the building of the XVIIth characteristic of architecture barisienne presenting facades adorned with a classic decoration(set) (columns, windows and front walls(pediments) with volutes) and also by a half-timbered medieval house with floor in cantilever. In the past, she was used to receive big(great) events, like tournaments as in 1559 during the coming of the king François II. Today, the place(square) lives(remains) a central space in the district of High city. She(It) gathers(collects) many animations in particular (street shows, stands(pits) etc.) during Festival Renaissance.
