The castle of Cons-la-Grandville is one of centres of Renaissance and of sculpture of this time(period) in Lorraine. Built on a rocky headland at the heart of the village of Cons-la-Grandville, on river banks Chiers, the current castle rests(bases) on the foundations of a first fortified castle established by Dudon de Cons, fellow traveller of Godefroy of Broth during the first crusade (1096). Since this time(period) and untill today, this monument did not cease being transformed, prettified, restored.

Au gré de la visite du château, on découvre ainsi la salle d’honneur avec son plafond à la française et sa chapelle, les splendides cheminées Renaissance, les anciennes cuisines du XVIe siècle devenues salon de billard au XIXe siècle, la grande salle à manger et son décor de stuc de style Régence, la tour des oubliettes rappelant le château féodal, etc … La qualité des aménagements du château et des restaurations accomplies au XIXe siècle font des salons de Cons-la-Grandville un des ensembles les plus complets et les plus harmonieux de cette époque.
