Site archéologique de Cucuruzzu, Capula, San Larenzu 20170 Levie
By crossing a Mediterranean forest at the heart of preserved environment, you will discover the Casteddu de Cucuruzzu, who is a member of about twenty of casteddi known for the island, located principally in southern Corsica. It is in 1959 when the archaeologist Roger Grosjean, to whom they owe in particular the fame of the sites of Filitosa (Sollacaro) and of Cauria (Sartène), mentions the site of Cucuruzzu. In 1964, study will be resumed(taken back) by François de Lanfranchi, who will pursue and spread(widen) his researches(searches) to in 1990s. Established by the men of the Bronze age, he was established within a granite chaos done up, dominating the north hillside of the tray(plateau) of Levie. At the foot of the casteddu towards the Northeast, some of the terraces done up and shelters were occupied; it is about a village, surrounded by a wall of protection (not accessible(approachable)). The main monument is trained(formed) by Torra (tour(tower,ballot): probable storage place and place of transformation(processing) of foodstuffs(commodities)), which keeps(preserves) another part(party) of its coverage(cover).
