Located 10 km from Châteaudun, between the roads of Orléans and Meung-sur-Loire, in the town of Ozoir-le-Breuil, a mill has been built since the thirteenth century on this windy site. For centuries a multitude of mills succeeded each other on this piece of land of Frouville (variously called: Frouvilla, Froovilla, Frovilla, Frodevilla). They were built of wood and probably, for the most part, of the type of mills-pivots (bumblebee and rotating cage). Following the fire of 1822, Monsieur Crignon, who had become the new owner, had the mill rebuilt in 1826, in its present stone form (as evidenced by the inscription on the lintel of the western gate). The site, in the middle of the Beauce, is identical from the beginning. It varies only as the fields and seasons work. The installation will be in operation by the force of the wind alone. From the Tourist Office of Châteaudun (Place du 18 Octobre ou de la rue de Luynes) enter the street Gambetta, follow opposite the street of Champdé and continue on the exit of the city on the road of Meung-sur-Loire for 10 kilometers.
