Archaeological museum built on Gallo-Roman monumental remains. The Gallo-Roman agglomeration developed from the ancient Gaulish oppidum of the Mersans plateau, which became since the first century AD a political, economic and religious centre (forum, basilica, commercial buildings, fountain, thermal baths, theatre...). Roman Garden. The Argentomagus Museum conveys the image of an archaeology within everyone’s reach. The spaces are punctuated by numerous reconstructions from prehistory to the Gallo-Roman era. Each year, archaeological excavations reveal new knowledge of the hidden city: streets, neighbourhoods, forums, basilica, theatre...
