Site occupied by a first mill dating the Middle Ages then the second mill in three millstones, which gearing in cast iron is of a not very common scale(ladder). Fief of the Lord de la Perruche whose headstone is still in the church of XII éme s., in 1790 the guards mills ending banality engraved their names in stones of the mill. First factory of pre-industrial era which turned(shot) thanks to the hydraulic strength generated by the flow of Drouette, river collecting waters of the forest massif of Rambouillet. Drouette changed at the time of Vauban allowed the transit of long barges(black-tailed godwits) bringing stony blocks intended(designed) for the edification of the viaduct of Maintenon. The headrace channel of the mill enlarged in this period allowed to increase hydraulic strength tenfold to confer on it a power of 15 horses.
