About the location

Temple d'Orléans
2 place du Cloître Saint-Pierre-Empont 45000 Orléans
  • Loiret
  • Centre-Val de Loire
Inaugurated on May 2, 1839, the temple is the work of the Orleans architect François-Narcisse Pagot. He built the temple on the site of the old church of Saint-Pierre-Empont and opted for a circular central plan inspired by the temples of antiquity. One of the very few round temples in France. It is included in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments. It is the place of worship of the United Protestant Church of France (every Sunday morning at 10:30, open to all public). There are also numerous concerts, conferences and exhibitions, testimonies of its opening towards the city.
