The Friends of Old Montrichard, comment every twenty minutes, to each group, the history of the prisons and dungeons of the city and their famous prisoners, with in addition the reading of condemnations and the account of the execution of the last condemned to death in 1757. The visit of the dungeons and prisons is done in groups of 15 people maximum. Free, without reservation.

An exceptional medieval site in the heart of the Renaissance castles, discover the Montrichard Keep built on a natural rocky outcrop that dominates the city and offers an exceptional view of the Cher valley. Its majestic Carrée Tower, built in the 12th century by the Amboise family, was built to guard the valley. In the 15th century, at the foot of the keep, King Louis XI built very large royal houses overlooking the church Sainte Croix, which was then the chapel of the castle. The Fortress of Montrichard was declared a Historic Monument in 1877.
