On the occasion of this new edition of the European Heritage Days, (re)discover the castle of Fougères-sur-Bièvre! All weekend long, these short presentations (15-20 minutes) will be an opportunity to take an interest in the history of the monument, its architecture, while raising awareness of the issues of heritage preservation

With tracks of a first building by 1030, the castle of Brackens is one of the most old(former) seigniories of Blaisois. During Hundred Years' War, he(it) falls into the hands of English people who, losers, abandon(give up) him(it) in ruins. He(It) will be rebuilt from 1450 till 1525 by blésois notables. Built at the end of the XVth century, the castle offers the image of the ideal fortified castle with its donjon, path round the battlements, murderesses.. Having located near(about) a river, with his medieval vegetable garden of inspiration, he allows to associate heritage and nature. Collection of edible, aromatic, curative plants and tinctoriales. Tinctoriales plants calls back the presence of the shadowing(spinning) in the XIXth century. The medieval castle of Brackens is opened all year long and visits on 3 floors with an access to exceptional skeletons. Visit free or guided. Brought to light nocturne every evening of the year. Shop and educational service(department). Area of picnic and parking lot in 50 m.
