«Winning the Hundred Years War. Jean de Dunois, Jeanne d'Arc and their companions»

In partnership with the Army Museum.

The exhibition looks at this complex period, which is not just limited to the conflict between France and England, and sees civil wars, revolts, dynastic clashes, social and religious!
It highlights the political upheavals and the evolution of combat techniques at the end of the Middle Ages thanks to some thirty spectacular objects, works and documents.
Take the opportunity to (re)discover the castle of Châteaudun, which Jean de Dunois called the «Bastard of Orleans», nephew of Charles VI and companion of arms of Jeanne d'Arc, undertook to transform at the end of the Hundred Years War.

Between Tours(Towers) and Chartres, in boundaries of the plain of Beauce and at the edge of the valley of the Loir(Dormouse), built on a rocky spur, the princely castle of Jehan de Dunois, thought «the illegitimate child of Orléans» and companion(journeyman) of Jeanne d'Arc, offers to the visitors a real journey in time. Overhanging the Loir(Dormouse) of more than 60 metres, one (Re) will discover a succession of elements of medieval, Gothic architecture and Renaissance of an exceptional authenticity and of gardens inviting in dawdling.
