Mairie
2 rue Charles-Péguy 28190 Fontaine-la-Guyon
- Eure-et-Loir
- Centre-Val de Loire
In the heart of a 12 ha estate is the Mairie-Château dating from 1684 and acquired by the municipality in 1998\. The surrounding park is laid out according to an 18th century plan with star-shaped walkways (some are still visible). Among the century-old cedars, the oldest was planted in 1779\. Remains of the famous Canal Louis XIV are present in the park. On the visible part of the canal, about 250m, a cooler, ancestor of the cold rooms, testifies to the vestiges of the past.
