The 55 municipalities of the Pays d'art et d'histoire Loire Touraine share a sweetness of life to which the beauty of the largely preserved natural landscapes is not foreign. The presence of water (the Loire, the Cher, their tributaries), the vineyard slopes, the vast forests like that of Amboise make up a landscape that the builders of parks and gardens, private as well as public, wanted to benefit from. In dialogue with these landscapes, they have created masterpieces, some of which are now labelled «Remarkable Garden». Great names in the history of gardens, such as Édouard André, have left their mark on the territory. While some large estates are now welcoming visitors, many treasures are barely visible…
