Sites open to the public: Photographic conversations

The exhibition «Sites open to the public: photographic conversations» presents a selection of photographs from «white cards» given to five photographers by the National Monuments Centre. Colombe Clier, Pierre-Olivier Deschamps, Benjamin Gavaudo and Ambroise Tézenas take a sensitive look at an exceptional time in the history of these jewels of our heritage: their restoration in order to open them to the public and pass them on to future generations. They reveal to the visitor the behind-the-scenes of major restoration projects such as those of the Hôtel de la Marine (Paris), the Château de Champs-sur-Marne and the Château de Villers-Cotterêts in which, architects, workers and craftsmen working to restore the superb of these monuments. Between Urbex photography and still lifes, the photographer offers his vision, often poetic revealing the secret life of the building site.
