Moulin de Saint-Lazare
22400, Lamballe-Armor
Several mills have existed in Lamballe and the associated municipalities. Some are still present but many have fallen into ruin or have been destroyed. In 1788, Abbé Dutemple identified four water mills at Lamballe, twelve within a league radius and five windmills within that radius. The variety of mill types made it possible to operate this “industry” at all times (floods, droughts, wind fantasies, etc.). The Moulin Saint-Lazare: A windmill built between 1788 and 1829, at the top of Mont Boët, it offers a beautiful panorama of Lamballe. Nicknamed the «red mill», it is the property of the Duke of Penthièvre until 1789.
