The Industrial Ecomuseum retraces, on 3 levels of exhibition, the history, the technique, the life of the workers of the Forges from 1860 to 1970. With 16 permanent exhibition rooms, its objective is to trace the daily life of «metal craftsmen», specialized in the manufacture of steel sheet for Breton canneries.
Social history, struggle for rights, technological and machine developments… So many themes to discover throughout the permanent exhibition, through a rich collection of tools, photographs, costumes and models, making the ecomuseum one of the rare witnesses of a forgotten regional industrial history.
The temporary exhibition, highlighting the Blavet River, will also always be visible. The Blavet was once an actor of the Industrial Revolution. According to societal developments, its perception and its use by Men was transformed: from an element at the service of Man it became a fragile natural area to protect and an object of artistic inspiration. It is these multiple faces of the same space and its transformation in time that the exhibition aims to present. Museum objects and photos by Valérie Debord offer different points of view, allowing a better understanding of a major component of the landscape yet poorly known.
Throughout the weekend, mediators will be present in the exhibition rooms to answer visitors' questions.
Guided tours of the Forges outdoor area will also be organized on Saturday and Sunday at 3pm.

Old(Former) laboratory of the Smithy of Hennebont become from 1978 the industrial Ecomuseum which, on 3 exposure levels redraws history(story), technique, life of the workers of Smithy from 1860 till 1970\. The Ecomuseum of Smithy, among the first ones of Brittany, was created in 1978 by an Association of volunteers led by Gisèle Le Rouzic, girl of a rolling-mill worker and native of " The Mountain " the most emblematic village of Smithy. Returning after several years of distance in his(her) municipality of origin, Gisèle Le Rouzic finds a totally upset landscape there since almost all of steel installations and village of its childhood were shaved Backed up by some pupils and a photographer, she dashes(launches) into the collectage - oral and material - of this still very present industrial memory associating thereabouts all old(former) workers and workers of the industrial site. The municipality of Inzinzac-Lochrist, aware of the work of report begun(undertaken) and presented during diverse exhibitions(exposures), purchases in 1980 of the old(former) laboratory of physical and chemical tries(essays). Room by room, the Association does up the building(ship) which becomes the «Museum of the metallurgists of the Smithy of Hennebont» and is inaugurated in 1981\. Extended and updated since 1990, the Ecomuseum is rich in 16 permanent exhibition halls, supplemented by a media(audiovisual) space and a room devoted to temporary exhibitions(exposures) today. He welcomes numerous individuals, school in a site lately agreeably redeveloped Right Bank of the Channel(Canal) of Blavet.
