About the location

La Roche Montbourcher
Le château de la Roche, 35270, Cuguen
  • Ille-et-Vilaine
  • Bretagne
Futur Espace Naturel Sensible du département d'Ille et Vilaine, le site de la Roche Montbourcher has been forgotten because it is isolated in a wooded valley crossed by a river. At the edge of territory between the Pays de Saint-Malo and the Pays de Fougères located on the steps of Brittany the site of the Roche Montbourcher and its castle are an asset of the built and natural heritage of the region. Its ruins, a round tower and a square tower built in the 14th century have passed through the centuries peacefully. The castle was abandoned in 1590 and since then it contains a preserved landscape with its legends and stories that the inhabitants knew how to peddle.
