Former "Yvon Salaün" lifeboat The "Yvon Salaün" lifeboat, built in 1955, was in service at the Portsall station for 43 years. It bears the name of a former sailor engaged in the Free French Forces during the Second World War. The canoe made its last rescue trip on September 5, 1998, and was then taken over and retained by the Association pour la Conservation des Anciens Canots de Sauvetage. Classified as a Historical Monument since 2016, the boat participates in gatherings of old ships and also serves as a boat committee of races and surveillance of regattas.
