Between 1380 and 1384, the duke of Brittany Jean IV makes build in Dinan a remarkable tower - residence. Through this ambitious architectural programme, the prince wished to show his power and to assert his power on a city who was rebel to it for a long time. More than a fortress, the castle of Jean IV imposes as a palace upon the wide and bright windows and upon the rich sculpted decorations.
