Eager to make of Dinan one of their main strong places(squares), the dukes of Brittany go, from the end of the 13th century, powerfully to strengthen the city. Reinforced in the 15th then in the end of the 16th century, the surrounding wall(speaker) dinannaise present an exceptional set(group) including 4 doors, 10 tours(towers,ballots), and about three kilometres of walls.
