"The Abbey and the forest of Saint Maurice is 800 years of history for 123 hectares of natural and historic spaces. The site is the property of the Coastal Conservatory. Behind the hundred-year-old trees overlooking the Laïta, there are the remains of the Cistercian monks who settled there in the Middle Ages. Since then, we have managed to preserve and restore the sites and monuments of the various owners of the site. Come and admire the chapter room (13th century), the façade of the church (17th century), the orangery (18th century) and our many remarkable trees.
The Forest dominates the places, it is rich by its gentle and beautiful management thanks to its old settlement. The abundant life allows us to contemplate its diversity. Some rarities mingle with the ordinary but we preserve the place for its abundance."

This abbey was based(established) in the third third(third party) of the 13th century; there remains(subsists) this time(period) only the chapter house. The chorus(choir) was rebuilt and decorated in the 15th century. Of repair were begun(undertaken) in the 16th century. During the 17th century, l' church and the monastery were rebuilt. L' abbey was sold as very national in the Revolution, then transformed into house between 1880 and 1885; the chapter house was then restored in 1893-1894\. Due to bombardments in 1944 remain(subsist) only the chapter house, the facade of l' church and a part(party) of the abbey buildings(ships).
