CFCB

The objective of these days for the association CFCB is to show to the public railway equipment today disappeared or endangered, representative of the railway of the years 1960 to 1990, Most of them have been on the lines of Brittany and especially on the line from St Brieuc to Loudéac. It is thus a page of memory of Brittany that is presented.
Beyond this historical aspect, the event aims to make known the association and its activities, as well as the railway in general, past and present. It shows the technological and commercial evolution of the train on the regional lines. The members of the association will explain the technical particularities of the materials presented and will make discover how they behave and exploit: it is the opportunity to learn and see things normally not accessible to the public.
On Sunday 18 September a tourist train will provide traffic on the route Pontivy Lambel Camors and back. The following alternating railcars:
• Autorail X 3890 (1953) in red and cream original livery;
• Railcar X 2830 (1958) in blue livery type "Massif Central";
• X 2208 and 2251 railcars (1986) in unified TER livery.
In addition, the following materials will be presented at the station:
• Massif Central blue livery XR 96005 (1985);
• Trailer XR 6202 (from 1988) in TER Bretagne green livery;

About the location

Gare de Pontivy
Gare, Place Alfred Brard 56300 Pontivy
  • Morbihan
  • Bretagne
The station of Pontivy, in the Breton railway history, retains a place of its own and poses, by the singularity of its genesis, the sensitive question of the geographical opening up of Brittany. An intermediate stage on the Saint-Brieuc / Auray median axis, a “frontier” station between the Compagnie d'Orléans and the Réseau de l'Ouest, its facilities have been adapted to the functions of this establishment, which was born under the name of Napoléonville. The building, consisting of a central pavilion with 5 opening bays and flanked by 2 low wings, consists of a second-class station of the Compagnie d'Orléans. It is built of rubble masonry with granite bedrock. An aesthetic effect, desired by the company’s architects, is sought by an alternation of red (brick) and white (tuffeau) horizontal bands.
