Philippe Baron

For years, director Philippe Baron has been working with filmed archives. He is always fascinated by the ability of cinema to travel through time. He would have loved someone to give him a gift and say, Here’s a reel that your great-grandfather filmed in 1920. He left it for you. Nobody knows what’s in it.”
In 2019, he decided to make archives of the future. He recorded 35 testimonies for future generations.
From September 2022, these videos will be recorded in the Departmental Archives of Ille-et-Vilaine and will not be revealed to the public until 2100.
In the meantime, they are deposited on the island of Cinématorium, a show that you can explore during the European Heritage Days.
Artist-director: Philippe Baron
A production: "Les Films de l'Autre Côté" in co-production with "Au bout du plongeoir" with the support of Créativité Croisée - Rennes Métropole and the Brittany Region
