The study of the Morbihan’s judicial archives has shed light on some cases involving superstition, impiety and sacrilege. Magical ceremonies, covenants written with mole’s blood, or candles made with hangman’s grease, these are the elements found in the files. From sorcerers to healers, the border may seem thin for a Morbihan population away from health professionals. In the 19th century, justice ruled on cases that fell within the scope of fraud or the illegal practice of medicine.
