This concert of the Master of Brittany directed by Maud Hamon-Loisance will highlight the vocal repertoire of Gabriel Fauré who was organist of the Saint-Sauveur Basilica at the beginning of his career.
The Merklin Grand-Orgue (1866) was built in the organ cupboard (1653) of the former Saint-Georges Abbey transferred to Saint-Sauveur. It was inaugurated by Gabriel Fauré.

The basilica Saint Saviour is built from 1703 by F. Huguet. In 1719, the chorus(choir) and the transept were almost ended, but the building was harmed by the fire of 1720\. Works started again slowly, always conducted by Huguet up to its death in 1730, then under that of Forester. It is in him that they owe the Italian-style facade, realised by 1755\. Works were finished(ended) in 1764.
