Located at 6 rue d'Avril, near the Portes d'Honneur of the Abbey, the Hôtel des Monnaies, which dates from the end of the 12th and early 13th centuries, has a vast façade on the street with two skylights on either side of a corbelled fireplace. Listed as a Historical Monument, it was acquired in 1966 and restored for more than ten years by the association Les Amis de Cluny. It comprises two rooms on the first floor, impressive in size and authenticity and another on the ground floor opening onto a newly renovated inner courtyard. The Hôtel des Monnaies is exceptionally open to the public for the European Heritage Days. A slide show on the building and a retrospective of the association are offered to visitors.
