The Confrérie Saint-Nicolas de Clamecy has existed since 1738. In partnership with the Scientific and Artistic Society of Clamecy, it joins the International Association of Floats and Rafters. From the archives of the Scientific Society, the members of this association have relaunched the study of techniques relating to the flotation of firewood for Paris. In particular, they rediscovered the manufacture of the "coupling" wheels essential for the construction of rafts or wooden trains. As part of the Clamecy International Meetings in 1995, they produced 1/20° models that form the basis of the ecomuseum.
