Built between 1639 and 1643, the chapel is the only remnant of the Visitation convent. This order, founded in 1610, is part of the movement to create new religious congregations resulting from the Counter-Reformation. The building has a simple volume and has a Baroque façade, unique in Nivernais. The altarpiece was made in 1641 by the sculptor Claude Collignon and takes over the tripartite organization of the facade.
