It is an ideal hiking destination on the Géruge-Chatel stage circuit of the Via Cluny circuits.
It also holds many riches: statuary of the 16th century, painting dated 1613, stained glass windows of Saint-Laurent ... We can note, in particular, the wall painting «the Adoration of the Magi» at the beginning of the 16th century, discovered in the 1960s.
It probably represents Philibert de Chalon, head of the armies of Charles V and Viceroy of Naples under the guise of a mage.
The history of this church is part of that of the castle of Saint-Laurent-la-Roche, fortress defended by the Franc-Comtois hero Lacuzon and dismantled in 1668 by Louis XIV.
Passionate volunteers will make you discover this building thanks to multiple anecdotes.

Church of the XIVth century classified Historical Monuments. Located in a unique setting, on the first foothills of the Jura, this church holds particularly interesting works. Former priory, then parish of the surrounding villages, this church has many remarkable elements, including a mural painting "the adoration of the magi", dating from the beginning of the sixteenth and discovered in the sixties, which probably represents Philibert de Chalon. It is currently being studied by a scientific committee. The table "ND of the 7 pains", dated 1613 is also extremely interesting. You will also find a baroque altarpiece, statues, stained-glass windows representing Saint-Laurent, an important statuary, and monks' heads carved in stone. ... Visitors will discover the moving story of Charlotte de la Favée, who died in childbirth, and in memory of whom her husband had a commemorative inscription engraved in the seigneurial chapel.
