Surrounded by large moats, the castle built in 1606, impresses by the monumentality of its military-style facades. It contains an architectural feat, an empty staircase 21 m high, the oldest and largest in this technique. The apartments, painted, sculpted and gilded with pomp in 1627-28 offer the most complete and best preserved testimony to the decorative art of the time of Marie de Medici. Furniture, paintings, tapestries and period objects make the evocation very attractive.
A park of spirit seventeenth century.
On 10 ha, the gardens restored from 1990 offer the different atmospheres of a park of the early seventeenth century: vast flowered parterre, maze of boxwood with aviary-belvedere, groves, theater of greenery, vegetable garden and pieces of water.
Note: Allow about 1H of visit for the interiors and about 45 min for the exteriors.
