17 and 18 September 2022Passed
Association Vagapont

As part of the 2022 Heritage Days, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September, 7 communes of the North of Yonne (Gisy-les-Nobles, Pont-sur-Yonne, Saint Sérotin, Sergines, Villemanoche, Villenavotte, Villeperrot) organize a common program of contemporary art exhibitions accompanied by cultural events (concerts, theatre, readings, poetry) in all public and private places and spaces with a heritage character that, during a weekend, will be open to the public. Almost 40 plastic artists (painters, sculptors, photographers, engravers,...) from the territory or further away will exhibit and will be present throughout the weekend in our 7 villages. There will also be more than 20 shows and animations for the public at the corner of our streets and character places. Baroque, lyrical, pop-rock, gipsy, hunting horns, bagpipes, jazz band, harmonies, soloists, ..., there will be something for everyone. And many surprises: street theater, magic, stories, fairy tales, washerwomen, a metalworker, a bard... Artistic creation workshops will invite young people to express their creativity. A red thread will also be on the program to make the link between our communities with the exhibition of the drawings of Chapû, cartoonist who left us in 2021, and with a track game for young and old to motivate them to move in each village to discover our heritage and the artists present. AU FIL DU PATRIMOINE is a time of exchanges and discoveries to make (re)discover to an audience of 5 to 99 years our local heritage and diverse and varied artistic universes.

Archaeologists report an ancient settlement from the Neolithic to the Merovingian period. The first mentions of the commune are made through archives or departmental that date from 833 A.D. At that time, Villemanoche was already a local power of importance because the medieval writings make its neighbor Pont-sur-Yonne (Pontus Syriacus), an administrative dependency of Villemanoche. Jean Pichelin lord of Villemanoche and , mad of king Francis 1st, lived there. Prehistory, antiquity and the Middle Ages have left important traces including polishes, tombs from the Iron Age as well as from the Gallo-Roman era; several stones of legends are repertorized there (the shaky rock, the midnight stone, the stone of virtues, etc. There is the church of Saint Pregts of Gothic style and its
