The site is the headquarters of the Groupement de Défense Sanitaire Apicole de la Nièvre, an association in charge of bee health, and the Nivernais-Morvan Beekeeping Union.
The latter’s mission is to promote beekeeping in the Nièvre region, notably through its school-apiary, where training is provided to acquire the basis for operating an apiary.
A secure shelter allows to discover the organization of a colony of bees inside a hive and the fabulous work of these foragers to make honey.
This visit pays tribute to the auxiliary insects whose importance is fundamental to the mission of pollinating plants and crops.
