The prefecture hotel occupies the former episcopal palace of Mâcon, seat of the bishopric, built from 1618 to 1631. The bishops of Mâcon lived there until the Revolution. In 1791, after the removal of the bishopric, the building was acquired by the departmental administration, and it was in 1800 that the prefecture moved there. On the program: guided tours of reception rooms, gardens and the prefect’s office, videos, exhibition, game of "search and find" for children and quiz for adults with a book to win.
