Two days of festivities and change of scenery await you to experience the atmosphere of the Middle Ages with frenzy and joyful mood.
Young and old will be able to discover life in the Middle Ages and spend a pleasant festive and friendly moment.
On the occasion of this exceptional event at the Castel Saint-Denis, free guided and commented tours of the insertion site, usually closed to the public, are proposed by Dounia Coobar, guide lecturer.
On the program, history of the Castel Saint-Denis, its landscape evolution following the restoration program and its anchorage in the Ravin de Valbois nature reserve.
Reservation required at the tourist information offices of the Ornans and Arc-et-Senans tourist office or online here (subject to availability).
Please note: Snack bar and small restaurant on site by the Tavern of the Enchanted Chalice.
Parking in Scey-Maisières, access to the site by the hiking trail (2km - 30 min). No motorized access.
Protest cancelled in case of bad weather.

Located 7 km from Ornans, Château de Scey dit Castel Saint-Denis offers a magnificent view of the Loue valley. After 25 years of excavation and consolidation work, the medieval site soon opens its doors to visitors.
Located on a rocky outcrop that separates the Loue valley and the ravine of Valbois in Chassagne-Saint-Denis. It rises to an altitude of nearly 500 metres, dominates the Loue valley and overlooks the villages of Scey-en-Varais and Cléron.
This castle remains the cradle of the family of Pierre de Scey, named guardian of the County of Burgundy by the Emperor Frederick I. Archaeological excavations have demonstrated its importance for the military architectural history of Franche-Comté from the 11th to the 16th centuries. In 1550, Nicolas Perrenot de Granvelle bought the site and rebuilt it between 1565 and 1576\. Besieged in 1639 by Swedish troops, the castle was definitively destroyed in 1674 on the orders of Louis 14.
