About the location

Abbaye de Bèze
18 rue de l'Encloître 21310 Bèze
  • Côte-d'Or
  • Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
Founded in 630, the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Pierre de Bèze is one of the oldest in Burgundy. Its surviving buildings, which date mostly from the eighteenth century with the exception of the remains of a chapel of the twelfth century are witnesses of a history that thus covers more than a millennium, from the beginning of the VIIth century. to the French Revolution, where it was sold as national property. Welcome to its 4 ha English park redesigned in the nineteenth century, planted with many remarkable trees: plane trees bicentenary, majestic sequoia, catalpa, imposing purple beech... and crossed by the Bèze. Welcome to her flower garden.
